Job summary

Covetrus is seeking a Pharmacist to coordinate drug distribution and clinical pharmacy activities in support departments. The role ensures safe, efficient handling of pharmacy policy for pet care and provides clinical drug information to veterinarians and pet owners.

The position requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy and a Texas license, with 6–12 months of relevant experience. Veterinary product experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or BS Degree in Pharmacy.
• Must have 6–12 months of experience.
• Experience with veterinary products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews veterinary orders for appropriateness and checks for overdoses/under-doses.
• Dispenses prescriptions to pets and counsels pet owners.
• Maintains controlled drug records and prepares drug requests.
• Participates in education programs and in-service trainings.
• Verifies work of support personnel including data entry and unit-dose distribution.
• Maintains knowledge of profession through memberships, journals, and CE requirements.
• Participates in clinical programs such as drug-level and antibiotic monitoring.
• Ensures quality of professional services.
