Job summary

Covetrus, Inc. in Fort Worth, TX, is seeking a Pharmacist to coordinate drug distribution and clinical pharmacy activities across support departments, ensuring safe, policy-driven patient care for pets and supporting veterinarians.

The role requires a Doctor of Pharmacy or BS in Pharmacy, Texas licensure, and 6–12 months of experience; veterinary product experience preferred. You will supervise pharmacy technicians and contribute to clinical programs and continued education.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree or BS Degree in Pharmacy.
• Must have 6–12 months of experience.
• Experience with veterinary products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and interprets vets orders for appropriateness and checks for overdoses, interactions, or toxins.
• Dispenses prescriptions to pets and counsels pet owners, maintaining up-to-date patient profiles.
• Maintains controls for audited drugs; prepares controlled drug requests for delivery by technicians.
• Participates in in-service education programs when requested.
• Verifies work of support personnel including data entry and unit-dose distribution.
• Keeps current knowledge through memberships, meetings, and continuing education to maintain competency.
• Participates in clinical programs such as drug-level monitoring and antibiotic monitoring.
• Participates in special studies as requested.
• Ensures high quality professional services.
