Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license required.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain valid prescription information from veterinarians or agents.
  • Handle medication orders via calls and faxes; clarify instructions as needed.
  • Dispense medications accurately per prescriptions; ensure proper labeling and timely delivery.
  • Respond to inquiries from healthcare providers and end-users about medication use.
  • Maintain detailed records of dispensed drugs and prescriptions; prepare reports.
  • Ensure proper storage conditions for medications and uphold high customer service standards.
  • Provide backup support for other pharmacy operations, including inventory management and order fulfillment.
  • Cross-train in various pharmacy functions (inventory control, order processing, communications).
  • Maintain active pharmacist licenses, including multi-state licensing as required.

Job description

Role Overview: The Pharmacist independently manages pharmacy support and operations, ensuring scope, quality, and timeliness with minimal supervision. They apply comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy procedures, communicate effectively with team members and partners, and solve problems using established methods. They also recommend process improvements within approved change controls and make decisions based on experience and policies, escalating risks when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle medication orders via calls and faxes, and clarify medication instructions as needed.
  • Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions, ensuring proper labeling and timely delivery.

  • Ensure proper storage conditions for medications and uphold high customer service standards.
