Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• Experienced Veterinary Assistants with at least 2 years of experience preferred.
• Proficiency or willingness to train in IVC placement and chemotherapy handling.
• Strong animal restraint and patient‑care skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to thrive under pressure in fast‑paced settings.
• Fluent English speaking and reading required; multiple languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient handling, restraint, and medical treatments.
• Place and maintain intravenous catheters (IVCs) under supervision.
• Assist in preparation, labeling, and safe handling of chemotherapy agents following safety protocols.
• Participate in chemotherapy technician training to learn cytotoxic drug safety and disposal procedures.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring proper sanitation and organization.
• Monitor, feed, and walk hospitalized patients; report changes promptly.
