Job summary

Maine Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Board Certified Oncologist to join our team in Maine. You will provide high-quality oncology care, guide treatment options, and collaborate across departments to deliver the highest standard of care for pets.

Join a state-of-the-art facility with in-house lab, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and a strong support team. You will educate clients, establish oncologic protocols, and participate in ongoing professional development with Rarebreed partners.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification or board-eligible veterinary oncologist.
  • Must obtain Maine Veterinary License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality oncology care to a wide client base.
  • Educate clients about oncologic care, treatment options and end-of-life care.
  • Establish oncologic medical protocols with DVM staff.
  • Set oncology medical standards and ensure quality of care.
  • Participate in ongoing education, seminars and training.
  • Collaborate with veterinary team and referring clinicians to deliver excellent patient care.

Maine Veterinary Medical Center is looking to add a compassionate and skilled Board Certified Oncologist to our team.

Maine Veterinary Medical Center (MVMC) is a VECCS level two certified Rarebreed practice that has full in-house laboratory capabilities, a fluoroscopy suite for interventional procedures, a helical 16-slice CT, MRI, respiratory ventilator, in-house telemetric monitoring, ultrasound and endoscopy. MVMC has well-staffed departments in Neurology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Radiology, Rehab and Acupuncture and great team of emergency clinicians and criticalists to offer advanced services to a well-educated client base. https://mvmc.vet/

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Provide high quality Oncology care to a wide client base
  • Answer client questions and concerns and educate clients regarding their pet's oncologic care, treatment options and end of life care
  • Oversight and direction of oncology medical standards and quality of care
  • Establishment of oncologic medical protocols in conjunction with DVM staff
  • Participates in ongoing education, seminars, and training as appropriate
  • Works with veterinary team (other specialists, ER Dept) and referring veterinary community to provide excellent patient care

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Veterinary Oncologist
  • Must obtain a State of Maine Veterinary License
