Job summary

Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump in Richmond, VA, seeks a veterinary neurologist to diagnose and manage a broad range of neurologic conditions in companion animals. Join a multi-specialty team with access to advanced diagnostics, including MRI, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.

Ideal candidates hold a DVM or equivalent, with Neurology board certification or residency training, and eligibility for state licensure.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurologic and neurosurgical conditions in companion animals.
• Perform and interpret advanced neurologic diagnostics and develop comprehensive treatment plans for complex cases.
• Collaborate with specialists, emergency clinicians, and support teams to provide coordinated care for urgent and complex neurologic patients.
• Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
• Contribute to the continued growth and development of neurology services at Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump.
• Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
