Job summary

Utah State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine seeks two faculty members in veterinary microbiology and immunology, at assistant, associate, or full professor level. Positions cover teaching, research and/or diagnostic service at the UVDL, with potential clinical service and strong emphasis on curriculum development.

Applicants must hold a DVM and/or PhD in the field, show teaching experience, and a record of research or diagnostic activity.

Qualifications

• DVM and/or PhD in bacteriology/immunology/infectious diseases or virology/immunology/infectious diseases or related area.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction in bacteriology/immunology or virology/immunology within the DVM program.
• Lead course organization, development and assessment initiatives.
• Develop innovative teaching methods and evaluation criteria.
• Contribute to the DVM curriculum and related activities.
• Design, analyze and publish pedagogical research.
• Develop and carry out a high-quality research program and mentor students.
• Obtain extramural funding and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
• Contribute to diagnostic services at the Utah Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory.
• Provide training to residents, veterinary students, and graduate students.
• Contribute to department, college, university, and professional service.
