Job summary

Pet Emergency Treatment (PET) in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a residency-trained or board-certified Medical Oncologist to join our AAHA-accredited specialty and emergency hospital. This is a unique opportunity to work with an established oncology caseload in a busy, fully equipped facility.

You'll collaborate with Internal Medicine, Emergency, and other services, oversee chemotherapy protocols, mentor staff, and contribute to clinical trials and ongoing oncology services across Alaska.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree is required.
  • Board Certification in Medical Oncology (DACVIM-Oncology) or residency-trained in Medical Oncology.
  • Excellent communication and client-centered care skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage oncology cases in collaboration with Internal Medicine, Emergency, and other services.
  • Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure compliance with USP 800 safety standards.
  • Support daily client communication, including treatment updates and ongoing patient care discussions.
  • Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff.
  • Pursue growth opportunities such as clinical trial participation and advanced oncology therapies.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide compassionate patient care.
