Job summary

Animal Medical Center of Seattle (AMCS) in Shoreline, WA seeks a Medical Oncologist (DACVIM-Oncology or residency-trained) to join a collaborative oncology service. The role offers a base salary of $200,000–$230,000 plus production, with full-time scheduling and strong referral support.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team including Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, and Radiology to deliver advanced cancer care and guide patients and families through treatment decisions.

Qualifications

• DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Washington veterinary licensure
• Board Certification in Medical Oncology (DACVIM-Oncology) or residency-trained in Medical Oncology
• Strong communication skills and client-centered approach

Responsibilities

• Manage oncology cases in collaboration with Internal Medicine, Neurology, Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, and Radiology teams
• Oversee chemotherapy protocols and USP 800 safety compliance
• Support daily client communication, treatment updates, and ongoing patient care discussions
• Mentor chemo-trained technicians and support staff
• Contribute to growth and development of the oncology service
• Collaborate with veterinarians and staff to provide compassionate patient care
• Communicate clearly with pet owners during emotionally challenging situations
• Foster a positive, team-focused hospital culture
