Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health seeks a Veterinary Medical Oncologist for Peak Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, Vermont. This full-time position involves serving a busy oncology service within a state-of-the-art hospital and collaborating across disciplines to advance patient care.

Board-certified or residency-trained candidates are preferred, with opportunities for education, mentorship, and clinical research throughout the Ethos network.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with Vermont licensure eligibility.
  • Residency in Medical Oncology completed or in progress.
  • Board certification or eligibility through ACVIM or ECVIM is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Manage oncology cases in collaboration with internal medicine, radiology, surgery and critical care.
  • Oversee chemotherapy protocols and USP 800 safety compliance.
  • Support client communication with treatment updates and triage.
  • Mentor chemo-trained technicians and staff.
  • Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound, ECT, or clinical trials.

Education

DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with licensure eligibility (Vermont)

As a board-certified or residency-trained Medical Oncologist, you’ll join an established, busy Oncology service within a state-of-the-art specialty and urgent care hospital where multidisciplinary medicine, professional development, and exceptional patient outcomes are central to the culture.

You’ll work alongside experienced specialists in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, Urgent Care, and Behavior, creating opportunities to collaborate across disciplines on complex cases. Peak’s dedicated oncology suite is designed with both patients and clinicians in mind, featuring a separate exam room, chemotherapy-safe treatment space, and advanced diagnostic capabilities.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Manage oncology cases in close collaboration with internal medicine, radiation oncology, surgery, and critical care
  • Oversee chemotherapy protocols and ensure compliance with USP 800 safety standards
  • Support daily client communication, including treatment updates, refills, and question triage
  • Mentor chemo-trained technicians, assistants, and support staff
  • Pursue growth opportunities such as ultrasound training, ECT training, or clinical trial coordination
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Vermont state veterinary licensure.
  • Completion of a residency in Medical Oncology.
  • Board Certification or eligibility for board certification through ACVIM or ECVIM.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
