Job summary

Berkshire Veterinary Hospital in Pittsfield, MA is seeking a compassionate Medical Director to lead clinical care and mentor our team. This leadership role oversees medical standards, client relations, and finances with the Hospital Manager.

You will guide surgeries, vaccinations, dentistry, and diagnostics while promoting a positive culture. MA license required; DVM degree and leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• DVM degree and eligible to obtain MA veterinary license.
• 2+ years clinical experience in a veterinary hospital preferred.
• Internship training preferred but not required.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose diseases in dogs and cats, with surgical or medical treatment.
• Collaborate with referring veterinarians and within our veterinary network.
• Pursue ongoing education, seminars, and training to stay at the top of the field.
• Lead and supervise clinic staff, working with Hospital Manager on finances.
• Align with Regional Operations Manager to uphold high standards and patient care.
• Administer core vaccines and provide client counseling for preventive care.
• Perform dentistries.
• Contribute to a positive, enjoyable workplace for staff and clients.
