Berkeley Dog and Cat Hospital in Berkeley, CA is seeking a Medical Director to lead the hospital, mentor veterinarians, and ensure high-quality care. The MD will collaborate with leadership to manage operations and maintain regulatory standards while delivering excellent patient care.

You will practice as a staff veterinarian and guide a team of veterinarians, technicians, and staff within a 15,000-sq-ft facility that includes a full pharmacy, in-house lab, imaging, and advanced surgical

Qualifications

• DVM or VMD degree from an accredited college.
• Current State Veterinary License.
• DEA registration must be obtained and maintained.
• 3-5+ years of experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
• Excellent surgical and dental skills.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality veterinary care.
• Excellent communication with staff and clients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high quality progressive veterinary care and set medical standards.
• Oversee medical policies and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations.
• Lead the hospital team and coordinate with leadership for service integration.
• Oversee inventory needs and budgeting for equipment and supplies.
• Manage patient care, client communication, and transfer of responsibilities.
• Mentor and evaluate staff veterinarians and conduct regular meetings.
• Support revenue and operational performance with Hospital Manager.
