West Loop Veterinary Care in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood seeks a Veterinary Medical Assistant to join a state-of-the-art, AAHA-accredited practice. You will support veterinarians with patient care, client communication, surgery monitoring, lab work, and hospital upkeep.

• Admit and discharge patients following protocols.
• Proficient use of practice software for medication dispensing and documentation.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested by the veterinarian.
• Assist doctors in medical and diagnostic procedures.
• Place IV catheters and initiate fluid therapy as needed.

West Loop Veterinary Care-Streeterville is a state-of-the-art, AAHA-accredited facility with Fear Free Certified professionals in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood. Our compassionate team is dedicated to building strong relationships and delivering exceptional care to pets and their families. We foster a positive environment with a collaborative team that includes Hospital Attendants, Patient Care Coordinators, Veterinary Assistants, and Technicians.

About the Role:

We are seeking a full-time Veterinary Medical Assistant passionate about animal care and client service.You’llhandle patient care, client communication, surgery monitoring, lab procedures, and ensure hospital cleanliness. We provide the tools and training to help you thrive in every area of our hospital.

We Offer:

• Licensure & CE : Full reimbursement for Illinois technician licensure and up to 16 hours of CE annually

This is a full-time position; pay range $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

• Educate clients on preventative healthcare recommendations and providefollow-up.
• Communicate any patient or client concerns toappropriate personnel.
• Perform venipuncture to collect blood samples, performin-houselaboratory tests, and prepare all forms to be sent to outside labs.
• Admit and discharge patients to hospital by following all admission and discharge protocols.
• Must have proficient knowledge of practice software for dispensing veterinarian approved medication, patient food, printing treatment sheets, discharge instructions, cage card labels, xrayand lab labels, recording communication with client and doctors, and others as directed by veterinarian.
• Perform diagnostic imaging as requested bythe veterinarian.
• Perform tech appointments, ??? etc. asdeemedappropriate bypractice
• Assistdoctors in medical and diagnostic procedures.
• Place IV catheters and begin fluid therapy when required bythe veterinarian.

Requirements:

Preferences:

• Minimum two yearsofexperiencein a small-animal veterinary setting
