Job summary

Bay State Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Services (BSVESS) in Swansea, MA seeks a Learning & Development Coordinator who is a trained Veterinary Technician with a passion for teaching. You will mentor technicians, lead onboarding, and develop training materials while remaining clinically active in emergency care.

You will partner with hospital leadership to identify learning needs, support staff growth, and deliver hands-on training across triage, anesthesia, ICU nursing, and critical care.

Qualifications

• CV or equivalent veterinary technician experience.
• 5+ years of veterinary experience, preferably in emergency and critical care.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and mentorship abilities.
• Previous training, leadership, or mentoring experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide real‑time coaching and mentorship to veterinary assistants and technicians.
• Lead onboarding and skills development for new clinical team members.
• Support competency training in triage, emergency stabilization, ICU nursing care, anesthesia, and critical patient management.
• Develop and maintain training guides, skills checklists, and educational resources.
• Partner with hospital leadership to identify training needs and support staff growth.
• Work scheduled shifts as a Veterinary Technician, maintaining strong clinical involvement and patient care responsibilities.
