Ox Bottom Animal Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida is seeking a kennel technician to care for in-hospital patients and boarding dogs. You will feed, medicate, walk and monitor animals, restock supplies and help with surgeries and exams.

Ideal candidates are able to lift, manage multiple tasks, and work closely with veterinarians and technicians to ensure compassionate care and safe handling of all animals. Position involves on-site duties and variable hours.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
• Ability to properly restrain animals.
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment efficiently.
• Perform moderately heavy physical labor.
• Attend to sick, scared and injured animals sympathetically.
• Learn to administer medications.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with others.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in hospital including feeding, medicating and monitoring.
• Clean, bathe and walk dogs; assist with boarding duties.
• Restock hospital supplies and assist with post-operative patients.
• Maintain accurate medication and treatment records.
• Assist doctors and staff with exams and instrument sterilization.
