Job summary

Ocala Veterinary Hospital in Ocala, FL is seeking a kennel technician to provide care, feeding, medicating, and cleaning for in-hospital and boarding animals. You will support veterinarians and the team with restraint, exams, and daily care in a compassionate setting.

Weekend shifts will rotate among the Kennel Technician team, offering growth and a supportive environment with benefits and ongoing education opportunities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cleaning and disinfecting methods.
• Proper methods of animal restraint.
• Ability to use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency.
• Perform moderately heavy physical labor.
• Ability to learn to administer medications and to recognize abnormal conditions.
• Maintain cooperative relationships and follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Care, feeding, medicating and cleaning of hospital patients and boarding animals.
• Assist clients in the boarding facility with daily needs and questions.
• Restock medical supplies and keep areas organized.
• Assist doctors and technicians with restraint and examinations.
• Maintain accurate medication, diet, and behavior records.
