Job summary

Hilltop Family Vet in Florida is seeking a Kennel Assistant to support grooming and boarding operations. You will help admit patients, follow client instructions, and maintain clean kennels and safe areas, under supervision of Doctors and Technicians.

The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 25 pounds, weekend availability, and OSHA PPE practices. Shifts include 4 full days (7:45am - 6pm) with rotating weekends; benefits include PTO, health/dental/vision, retirement, and development

Qualifications

• Ability to work on weekends as required.
• Previous veterinary experience preferred.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; with assistance over 25 pounds.
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.

Responsibilities

• Provides great care for patients visiting the practice for grooming and/or boarding.
• Ensures patients are admitted with client instructions for quality outcomes.
• Records feeding schedules, appearance, and behavior during visits.
• Monitors patient condition and reports concerns to staff.
• Walks patients and provides exercise and bathroom breaks.
• Cleans and disinfects kennels, cages, runs, and stalls as needed.
• Washes bowls and launders towels and blankets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
