Job summary

Hilltop Family Vet in Florida is seeking a Kennel Assistant to care for patients visiting for grooming or boarding. You will help maintain clean, safe kennels and assist during daily rounds under supervision of Doctors and Technicians.

The role requires weekend availability, physical stamina, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Prior veterinary experience is preferred, with OSHA PPE practices emphasized; benefits and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds; lift over 25 pounds with assistance
• OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE

Responsibilities

• Care for patients visiting for grooming or boarding
• Admit patients with client instructions, ensuring contact information and pick-up time
• Record feeding schedules, appearance, and behavior during visits
• Observe general physical condition and signs of illness or discontent
• Handle patients and restrain when needed
• Walk patients several times a day for exercise and elimination
• Provide food and fluids as needed according to standard care
• Ensure cleanliness of cages, kennels, and equipment; remove personal property to proper areas
• Wash and sterilize bowls; launder towels and blankets
• Maintain overall sanitation of hospital areas and grounds
• Perform other duties as assigned
