Job summary

Veritas Veterinary Partners is seeking a Kennel Attendant to maintain a clean, safe, and comforting environment for hospitalized and boarding patients. You will support veterinary technicians and veterinarians and help care for dogs and cats in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, a strong work ethic, and dependable teamwork. Schedules include two shifts with early daytime hours and compensation ranges from $18 to $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely handle dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods.
• Prior animal care experience preferred but not required.
• Basic understanding of common medical conditions seen in a veterinary hospital setting
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, treatment areas, and common spaces
• Feed, water, and walk dogs according to established protocols
• Monitor patients for signs of illness, stress, or discomfort and report concerns to medical staff
• Assist with patient handling and basic restraint as needed
• Launder bedding, towels, and clinic materials
• Maintain cleanliness of laundry, waste, and kennel areas
• Provide basic comfort and enrichment for hospitalized and boarding patients
• Support technicians and veterinarians as directed
