Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners is seeking a dedicated Kennel Assistant to support our veterinary team. You will help maintain a clean, safe hospital environment and assist with basic care duties under the guidance of the Practice Manager.

Pay ranges from $14 to $15 per hour, with benefits and flexible scheduling. Prior veterinary experience is preferred, and you should be able to lift light to moderate loads and follow OSHA safety practices.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary experience preferred
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients over 25 pounds with assistance
• Practices OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE

Responsibilities

• Regularly cleans and disinfects kennels, cages, runs, treatment areas, and other areas of the hospital.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary environment to help control the spread of disease.
• Launders, dries, folds, and organizes towels, blankets, and other hospital laundry.
• Washes and disinfects water and food bowls and other reusable patient‑care items.
• Empties trash and maintains cleanliness throughout the practice.
• Cleans floors, counters, surfaces, and other assigned areas as needed.
• Restocks cleaning and hospital supplies as needed.
• Helps maintain organization and cleanliness of patient care and common areas.
• May be trained to wrap surgical instruments and assist with other basic hospital support tasks based on experience and comfort level.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
