Job summary

ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our growing team. The role focuses on optimizing hospital inventory, coordinating vendors, and maintaining accurate receiving and documentation.

You will implement JIT and FIFO practices, perform regular audits, monitor drug logs, and collaborate with the accounting department to ensure timely processing of packing slips and orders.

Qualifications

• Completion of EzyVet webinars with respect to inventory management and product organization
• Completion of all admin level SmartFlow University training

Responsibilities

• Create a complete list of vendors and items used by ACCESS hospitals for inventory control.
• Recommend reorder points (ROP) for regularly used items at the home hospital location.
• Use JIT ordering to determine safe stock levels based on historic and projected usage.
• Receive, unpack, and distribute inventory to the hospital while maintaining accurate records.
• Ensure packing slips match orders and communicate details to accounting in a timely manner.
• Perform regular inventory audits and calculate turnover vs. industry benchmarks.
