Job summary

ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital Los Angeles is seeking an Inventory Specialist to join our growing team. You’ll manage vendors, optimize reorder points, and implement JIT stock strategies to keep supplies plentiful for the hospital.

Responsibilities include processing deliveries, reconciling packing slips, conducting audits, and maintaining FIFO for medications. Experience with Cubex, EzyVet, and SmartFlow is preferred; competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of EzyVet webinars with respect to inventory management and product organization.
• Completion of all admin level SmartFlow University training.

Responsibilities

• Create a complete list of all vendors used by ACCESS hospitals for inventory.
• Make recommendations for reorder points for regularly used items.
• Use JIT ordering and determine safety stock based on historic and projected usage.
• Order inventory for a single ACCESS hospital to maximize purchasing power.
• Receive, unpack, and distribute inventory within the hospital.
• Verify packing slips match ordered and received items and send to accounting.
• Perform regular inventory audits and compare to sales to identify waste/loss/theft.
• Calculate turnover ratio for common items and compare to industry average.
• Review year-over-year purchasing trends and forecast future needs.
• Reduce waste due to expiration by FIFO and avoid over-ordering.
• Maintain drug stocking and drug logs via Cubex or other tools as needed.
• Troubleshoot integration between EzyVet and SmartFlow and address on-site questions.
• Uphold ACCESS values in daily tasks and team collaboration.
