Job summary

Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) invites a board-certified Internist (Small Animal Internal Medicine) to join our 24/7 referral hospital in Estero, FL. You will lead complex internal medicine cases, collaborate with specialty and emergency teams, and mentor technicians in a state-of-the-art setting.

The role offers opportunities for growth in ultrasound, IR procedures, and electrochemotherapy, with a supportive Ethos Veterinary Health culture emphasizing teaching and mentorship.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with state licensure eligibility.
  • DACVIM board certification demonstrates specialty training in internal medicine.
  • Excellent communication with clients and team; compassionate, client-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex internal medicine cases spanning GI, hepatobiliary, infectious, endocrine, hematologic, and respiratory systems.
  • Perform and/or order advanced diagnostics (ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, CT).
  • Coordinate with specialty and emergency teams on shared patients and transfers.
  • Mentor technicians and assistants as part of daily case management.
  • Contribute to ultrasound proficiency and advanced procedures training.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Support a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration and learning.
