Job summary

The role requires 1-2 years of internal medicine experience and a high school diploma, with NAVTA training and WA Medication Clerk license preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of internal medicine experience as a veterinary assistant is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NAVTA-approved Veterinary Assistant program preferred.
• Active Washington State Medication Clerk License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians with emergency procedures and medical care for animals.
• Prepare and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and stocking supplies.
• Perform triage, history taking, basic nursing care, and discharge tasks.
• Communicate with clients to provide updates on pet status and aftercare.
• Follow hospital protocols and comply with state and federal regulations.
