Job summary

Pet Specialists of Austin is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support instrument sterilization and patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role works closely with DVMs, technicians, and staff to ensure sterile equipment and timely operations.

You will handle animal husbandry tasks, assist with procedures, and communicate clearly with clients. Full-time, Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm; starting pay $18–$21 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
• Prior customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Log all client communication as needed or directed by DVM on staff.
• Run Diagnostics
• General tasks: pack room processes, know instruments and their uses, know differences in surgical packs, wrap and pack instruments, run surgical laundry, lint roll and fold towels.
