Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Veterinary Assistant – Instrument Sterilization at Pet Specialists of Austin in Austin, TX. This full-time role focuses on cleaning, sterilizing, and preparing surgical instruments while supporting veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll contribute to a collaborative team, handle multiple tasks, and maintain high standards of patient care. The position requires 1–2 years of veterinary experience and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years previous experience as a veterinary assistant or technician.
• Prior customer service experience required.
• Comfortable working under supervision and in a hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Support cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments and essential equipment.
• Assist doctors and technicians in day-to-day hospital operations.
• Log all client communication as needed or directed by DVM on staff.
• Familiarize yourself with pack room processes and surgical instrument use.
• Wrap and pack instruments and run surgical laundry.
