Job summary

Pet Specialists of Austin in Austin, TX seeks a Veterinary Assistant – Instrument Sterilization to support cleaning and sterilization of surgical instruments. The role works Monday-Thursday 9am-6pm with a starting pay range of $18–$21 per hour, negotiable based on experience and credentials.

You’ll assist doctors and technicians, maintain packs, and ensure sterile processing while contributing to a collaborative team in a 24-hour emergency and specialty hospital environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years veterinary assistant or technician experience.
• Prior customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Customer service: log all client communications as needed or directed by DVM on staff.
• Run diagnostics.
• Familiarize yourself with pack room processes and instruments.
• Complete the processes of surgical instrument cleaning and wrapping.
• Operate ultrasonic cleaner, gas sterilizer, and autoclave.
