Job summary

VCA Animal Hospitals, Inc seeks a Hospital Manager to lead the veterinary client service team and oversee administrative and operational activities. You will mentor staff, drive growth, monitor budgets, and partner with Medical Director to deliver high-quality patient care and exceptional client service in a fast-paced practice.

The role requires experience in HR, marketing, and business development, with a strong financial acumen to ensure profitability and smooth day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years of customer service and financial budget management experience.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, to diverse audiences.
• The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results.
• Professional comportment with interpersonal skills and positive attitude.
• Respect for clients and their pets, with adaptability to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and develop staff towards quality patient care and client service; assist in objectives and policies for efficient operations.
• Oversee hiring, reviews, discipline and termination with Regional Management approval.
• Review P&L monthly; partner with Medical Director to increase revenue and control costs; assist in budgeting process.
• Model owner mentality; support staff to ensure smooth hospital operations.
• Minimize patient stress; refer to specialists when prognosis improves with referral.
• Maintain client/patient records and logs; assist with follow-up and management.
• Supervise administration and review of client medical complaints.
• Positively represent the hospital and VCA in professional communities.
