Job summary

Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic in Taos, NM seeks a Veterinary Hospital Manager to unite operational excellence, mentorship, and team culture. You’ll partner with the Medical Director to oversee daily operations and guide growth.

The role requires veterinary experience and proven leadership, training, and people development, plus a business-minded approach to practice expansion and patient care quality. This is a full-time, salaried position.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience.
  • Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; other healthcare management considered.
  • Bachelor's degree or CVPM or equivalent combination preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight: ensure workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, equipment/inventory management, and policy implementation.
  • Project & Facility Management: lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance aligned with hospital goals.
  • Client & Community Engagement: oversee marketing, address client concerns, improve patient experience and retention.
  • Team Leadership: manage department leads, hire and develop staff, maintain staffing levels, foster inclusive culture.

Salazar Road Veterinary Clinic is seeking aVeterinary Hospital Managerwho brings together operational excellence, a talent for mentorship, and a commitment to team culture. The ideal candidate will have prior veterinary experience and a proven background in leadership, training, and team development - paired with a business-minded approach to hospital growth.

As our Hospital Manager, you’ll work closely with the Medical Director and leadership team, taking ownership of daily operations and guiding our hospital toward continued success.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Operational Oversight:Ensure efficient workflow, maintain regulatory compliance (OSHA, DEA, VMB), manage equipment and inventory, and implement hospital policies and procedures.
  • Project & Facility Management:Lead day-to-day operations, scheduling, and maintenance while aligning administrative functions with overall hospital objectives.
  • Client & Community Engagement:Oversee marketing strategies, resolve client concerns, enhance client experience, and foster retention and growth.
  • Team Leadership:Manage and support department leads, oversee hiring and development, maintain staffing levels, and promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
Schedule, benefits and compensation**:

This is a full-time, salaried position and schedule flexibility is required based on business needs.

  • Compensation: $50,000 - $70,000annual base salary*
  • Bi-annual bonus opportunities:Based on hospital performance
  • Hiring bonus package:Up to $2000 based on experience and credentials

Your Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of leadership, business management, or operations management experience required.
  • Veterinary hospital management experience strongly preferred; medical, dental, or healthcare practice management experience also considered.
  • Previous veterinary experience (e.g., Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, or Client Service Representative) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing budgets, staffing, scheduling, and day-to-day operations.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficient with business software and able to adapt quickly to new systems.

This is a good-faith estimate based on the role's requirements at the time of posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The Company offers a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, and vision benefits, vacation, sick leave, 401(k), and other benefits depending on role and location. Pay Range

$50,000 - $70,000 USD
