Job summary

Locust Valley Veterinary Clinic in Locust Valley, NY is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy team. You will greet clients, help manage appointments, and support the veterinary staff in a fast-paced environment.

You will also be trained to assist in the safe restraint of cats and dogs during examinations and procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety, while maintaining a positive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, quality customer care to patients and clients
• Process invoices payments
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and obtain all necessary medical history
• Determine the status of the patient’s immunizations and tests
• Communicate with the doctor and technical staff on the patient’s arrival and necessary treatments
• Fill prescriptions, food requests, and over-the-counter products as instructed by a veterinarian
• Accurately input data into computer software
