Job summary

National Veterinary Associates (NVA) offers veterinary externships in its general practice hospitals, Ethos emergency and specialty locations, and related facilities across the U.S. and Canada.

Externs work closely with supervising veterinarians to gain real-world clinical exposure, including histories, exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, and procedures. Externs will also strengthen communication with the medical team, staff, and clients, with most programs lasting two to eight weeks.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans and order diagnostics.
• Assist or perform dental services and surgical procedures.
• Manage medical care and patient progress under supervision.
• Develop communication skills with medical team, clients, and staff.
