East State Veterinary Clinic, part of National Veterinary Associates, offers a Veterinary Externship designed for clinical-year students. Externs work with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain hands-on experience in history taking, exams, treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and surgical exposure.

Externships range from two to eight weeks and include opportunities to develop communication skills with the medical team and clients; travel and living stipends are provided to assist
