Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital is offering an externship opportunity for veterinary students to gain hands-on clinical experience. This externship spans two to eight weeks and allows students to understand the day-to-day operations of the veterinary practice.

Responsibilities include gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, and offering dentistry services, among others. Eligible students will receive a travel/living expense stipend of $1,000.

This program provides a supportive environment and a chance to practice essential communication skills within the veterinary team.

Qualifications

• Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible.

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories.
• Perform physical exams.
• Create treatment plans and diagnostics.
• Offer dentistry services.
• Observe, assist, or perform surgical procedures.
• Manage patients medically.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
