Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital offers veterinary students the chance to engage in an externship that provides hands-on clinical experience and insight into daily operations within the hospital. Students will assist Associate Veterinarians while participating in various aspects of patient care.

This externship ranges from two to eight weeks, and students from any year are encouraged to apply. A stipend for living expenses is available for those in the clinical portion of their education.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervising Associate Veterinarians in gathering patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Help create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, and provide dentistry services.
• Observe or assist in surgical procedures, and participate in medical management of patients.
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
