Job summary

Woodmoor Veterinary Hospital offers a Veterinary Externship for fourth-year students to learn under a supervising veterinarian. You will gain experience in gathering patient histories, conducting physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, and observing or performing surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in veterinary program, 4th year or clinical portion of education
• Externship participation in hospital setting
• Willingness to perform and observe clinical procedures

Responsibilities

• Gather patient histories and perform physical examinations
• Assist in or perform diagnostic tests and create treatment plans
• Assist or perform dentistry and surgical procedures under supervision
• Support medical management of patients and follow-up care
• Develop communication skills with the veterinary team, staff and clients
