Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital offers an externship for veterinary students designed to provide hands-on experience in small animal practice. Students will work closely with veterinarians, gaining skills in surgery, diagnostics, and patient management over a period of 2 to 8 weeks.

The externship includes opportunities to develop communication skills and may offer a stipend for travel/living expenses. Comprehensive benefits are also available for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• Experience in gathering patient histories and performing physical exams.
• Ability to assist in surgeries, dentistry services, and medical management of patients.
• Strong communication skills with medical team and clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in surgeries and medical procedures under supervision.
• Perform routine exams and gather patient histories.
• Develop treatment plans alongside the supervising veterinarian.
