Abqpetcarehospital in the Village of Waterville is offering an externship experience for veterinary students that provides a unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, along with valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Candidates will gather patient histories, perform physical exams, create treatment plans, and manage medical care of patients while also receiving a stipend of $1,000. This externship is ideal for students in the clinical portion of their education.
An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Although every NVA hospital is unique, the environment is supportive, committed to excellent medicine, and provides exceptional service to animals and the people who love them.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in the externship. Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount for Waterville Veterinary Clinic is $1,000.
