An externship experience at an NVA hospital gives students unique opportunities to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience.
Every NVA hospital shares a supportive environment, a commitment to excellent medicine, and a dedication to exceptional service for animals and their owners.
Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at Lakeview Animal Hospital are designed for 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.
Lakeview Animal Hospital is located in Portage, Michigan. The staff includes five veterinarians, three of whom are internship trained, and a team of technicians, technician students, receptionists, and assistants.
Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel and living‑expense stipend. Qualified externs may also have housing available.
Comprehensive benefits program includes medical, dental, vision, a 401k with employer match, and paid time off (including sick time). For Colorado‑based positions, benefits include paid sick and safe leave and public health emergency leave per state requirements.
