Job description

Pet Vet Roanoke is a small practice with a boutique feel, practicing small animal and exotic animal care.

Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in:

• Gathering patient histories
• Performing physical exams
• Creating treatment plans
• Diagnostics and dentistry services
• Observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures
• Medical management of patients

Externs will also have opportunities to develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. They are offered to 3rd and 4th year veterinary students.

Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. View stipend amounts and details on the stipend program.
