A leading global pet care organization offers externships for 4th-year veterinary students at an established hospital. Externs will learn practical skills in patient care, diagnostics, and surgical assistance while receiving mentorship from experienced professionals. This opportunity is complemented by a stipend for travel and living expenses.
Woodmoor Veterinary Hospital has 4 dedicated doctors with varying levels of experience who all enjoy teaching. We also have 2 RVTs and a third in training.
Students will work closely with the supervising veterinarian to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and medical management of patients. Additionally, student externs will have opportunities to improve their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. We accept 4th-year veterinary students for externships.
