An externship experience at an NVA Hospital will give veterinary students a unique opportunity to understand day‑to‑day operations and gain hands‑on clinical experience. The program emphasizes a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and outstanding animal and client service.
Students work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gather patient histories, perform physical examinations, create treatment plans, conduct diagnostics, provide dentistry services, observe or assist in surgeries, and manage patient medical care.
Externships at Midland Animal Clinic range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education may receive a travel/living expense stipend.
