Job summary

Abqpetcarehospital in Deer Park, New York, offers a unique externship experience for veterinary students to understand daily operations and gain hands-on clinical experience. Students will work closely with Associate Veterinarians, perform examinations, create treatment plans, and assist in various medical procedures.

Job Overview

An externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day-to-day operations of the practice, and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. Although each NVA hospital is unique, they share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.

Internship Details

• Most externship experiences at Park Hills Animal Hospital, A PetOne Veterinary Hospital, range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules.
• All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
• Veterinary students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. The stipend amount is $500.
