Animal Clinic of Farmers Branch offers up to a $2500 travel stipend for Clinical Year Externships
An externship experience at an NVA hospital provides students with a unique opportunity to understand the daily operations of the practice and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Each NVA hospital is unique but shares common qualities: a supportive environment, a commitment to excellent medicine, and a focus on providing exceptional care to animals and their owners.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry services, observing or assisting with surgical procedures, and managing patient care. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Our team is passionate about working with animals and clients to deliver compassionate care. We build long-lasting relationships through outstanding service, education during wellness and dental visits, surgeries, and comprehensive care. We foster a positive work environment with open communication and encourage a healthy work-life balance, dedication, and compassion.
Externship durations typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. All veterinary students, regardless of class year, are encouraged to participate in NVA externships.
