Job description

Join to apply for the Veterinary Extern - General Practice role at NVA General Practice.

This externship provides students with the opportunity to understand daily practice operations and gain hands-on clinical experience. All NVA hospitals foster a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service to animals and their owners.

Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, assisting or performing surgical procedures, and managing patient care. Additionally, students will develop communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

Externship durations at Cape May Veterinary Hospital typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. All veterinary students in the clinical phase are encouraged to participate. Students in the clinical portion of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend, with a stipend amount of $1,000 for Cape May Veterinary Hospital.
