Veterinary Extern - General Practice at National Veterinary Associates
An externship experience at an NVA hospital offers students the opportunity to understand daily operations and gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. All NVA hospitals share a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and providing exceptional service to animals and their owners.
Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians to gain experience in gathering patient histories, performing physical exams, creating treatment plans, diagnostics, dentistry, observing or assisting in surgical procedures, and managing patient care. Additionally, externs will have opportunities to enhance their communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship durations range from two to eight weeks, depending on schedules. Students can gain experience at Eagle Animal Hospital's locations in Riverside, Liberty, and Tiffany Springs. 3rd and 4th-year veterinary students are encouraged to apply. Veterinary students in the clinical phase of their education may be eligible for a travel/living expense stipend. Click here for stipend details.
