Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Assistant. We promote an emotionally intelligent work environment and positive culture at our hospital. We invest heavily in our employees with many opportunities for growth and development as well as a consistent work/life balance.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our patients. Your work will include hands-on care, outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, and support services such as admitting and discharging patients.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
  • Maintain relevant medical records with practice systems.
  • Obtain health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow protocols, and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
  • Support and mentor fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 1+ years of veterinary technician/assistant experience with direct animal care.
  • Desire to practice empathetic, gold-standard medicine.
  • Team-oriented with collaborative skills.
  • Positive, kind, trustworthy communication with patients, team, and clients.
  • Desire to grow and advance as a veterinary technician.

Salary Range:

Starting at $21 - $24/hour, negotiable based on credentials and experience. The actual rate will consider skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
