Job description

Veterinary Externships Available - Busy Small Animal and Exotics Practice ($3,000 Stipend + On-Site Housing Provided)

Veterinary Externships Available – The externship experience at an NVA hospital will give students the unique opportunity to understand the day‑to‑day operations of the practice and to gain valuable hands‑on clinical experience. We provide a supportive environment committed to excellent medicine and exceptional service.

• Perform physical exams
• Create treatment plans
• Perform diagnostics
• Provide dentistry services
• Observe/assist or perform surgical procedures
• Perform medical management of patients
• Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients

Externship duration ranges from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. All veterinary students (regardless of class year) are encouraged to participate.

Students in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
