Metropolitan Veterinary Associates in Montgomery County, Norristown, is seeking a Veterinary Emergency Technician to be on the front line of urgent patient care in a fast-paced hospital. You will triage, administer critical care, and collaborate with veterinarians and techs to develop and execute treatment plans.

You will communicate with pet parents with empathy, maintain an organized workflow, and stay current with the latest emergency protocols and best practices through ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced emergency or ICU setting.
• Strong clinical skills including IV catheter placement, venipuncture, laboratory sample processing, and anesthesia.
• Effective communication with clinical staff and pet parents, especially in urgent scenarios.
• Confidence in triage and rapid assessment under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients by assessing medical needs and prioritizing treatments based on urgency.
• Provide immediate critical care—fluids, medications, and life-saving interventions while monitoring status.
• Collaborate with emergency veterinarians and technicians to execute treatment plans for various cases.
• Communicate compassionately with pet parents, offering updates and empathy during stressful moments.
• Maintain a calm, organized workspace with rapid access to supplies for emergencies.
• Participate in ongoing training and case discussions to stay current with emergency protocols.
