Job summary

VCA Animal Specialty Group (ASG) in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced Doctor’s Assistant for our ER department. The role involves triage, client communication, and supporting doctors and technicians.

Shifts are 10 hours, 4 days/week (4pm–2:30am). Compensation ranges from $23 to $28 per hour. Includes benefits after 30 days, vacation, holidays, 401(k) with matching, and employee pet discounts, plus health/vision/dental coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary DA or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to create estimates and present to clients.
• Ability to relay patient histories to doctors and technicians.
• Experience handling lab and radiology reports.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and manage STAT calls.
• Communicate with clients to obtain histories, explain estimates, discharges and euthanasia paperwork.
• Create estimates and present to clients.
• Relay patient histories to doctors and technicians.
• Help maintain the flow of doctor schedules and triages.
• Create treatment sheets in Smart Flow per doctor’s instructions.
• Fill prescriptions to go home with clients.
• Answer calls and send/receive emails/texts.
• Manage daily tasks (lab & radiology reports, filing, callbacks/updates, enter charges, export discharges).
• Ensure patients are clean and comfortable.
• Help clean and maintain the treatment floor and hospital.

VCA Animal Specialty Group (ASG) is seeking an experienced Doctor’s Assistant (DA) for our ER dept. ASG is located in Los Angeles, Glendale adjacent.

Primary skills required for this position:

• Triage patients, including STAT calls as needed
• Communicate with clients to obtain histories, explain estimates, discharges and euthanasia paperwork
• Create estimates and present to clients
• Thoroughly relay patient histories to doctors and technicians
• Help maintain the flow of the doctor’s schedules & triages
• Create treatment sheets in Smart Flow per doctor’s instructions
• Fill prescriptions to go home with clients
• Answer calls, and send and receive emails/text messages
• Manage daily tasks (lab & radiology reports, filing, call backs/updates, enter charges, export Smart Flow discharges into Woofware, etc.)
• Ensure patients are clean and comfortable
• Help clean and maintain the overall treatment floor and hospital
