Job summary

CareVet is seeking a Veterinary District Manager for the Western District to lead up to 15 hospitals, drive performance, and partner with Hospital Managers and veterinarians.

The ideal candidate has multi-site veterinary leadership experience, strong business acumen, and excellent communication. Requires Colorado or Washington residency, willingness to travel 50-75% and to implement best practices to improve client outcomes and hospital efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Prior veterinary hospital management experience is required, with multi-site experience preferred.
  • Residence in Colorado or Washington required.
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager or CVT desirable but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to support a collaborative culture.

Responsibilities

  • Coaching and Development: Interview prospective Hospital Managers.
  • Facilitate and represent CareVet during on-site interviews for Veterinarians.
  • Train and build relationships with new Hospital Managers at newly acquired hospitals; new hires; internal promotions.
  • Develop established Hospital Managers.
  • Implement CareVet best practices in client communication, patient care, and hospital operations.
  • Navigate and document all performance-related issues with Managers and teams; Performance reviews; coaching and discipline.
  • Fully understand a hospital’s P&L, diagnose challenges and opportunities.
  • Assist the Vice President of Operations in creating and maintaining profitable hospitals.
  • Identify and monitor historical financial trends and influence future performance.
  • Travel 50-75% for day trips with occasional overnight visits.

Position Overview:

District Managers across our network are trusted members of the Operations team and play an important role in supporting up to 15 hospital locations. They are an essential part of the integration process for newly acquired hospitals and help build key relationships with new teams across our network to drive collaboration and long-term success. District Managers report to the Vice President of Operations and partner closely with them to develop and empower Hospital Managers to create fulfilled, engaged, profitable, and successful teams.

They possess strong business acumen, clear and effective communication skills, and a deep understanding of veterinary financial management, using that knowledge to guide hospital leadership and enhance overall hospital efficiency. Who You’ll Work With:

District Managers perform a cross-functional role within our network and work daily with their Hospital Managers and the DVMs at those hospitals; within CareVet, they work closely with the Operations, People and Culture, Integrations, Revenue teams and more!

Job Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related fieldor relevant education and work experience
  • Prior veterinary hospital management experience is required, with multi-site experience being highly preferred
  • Residence in one of the following states is required: Colorado or Washington
  • Certified Veterinary Practice Manager or Certified/Registered Veterinary Technician is desirable but not required
  • Excellentorganizational skills including the ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Benefits and Compensation:
  • Competitive base pay between $70,000-98,000 per year, commensurate with experience
